Dr. Liddy and Students

Throughout her career, Dr. Liddy has maintained an active focus on training and creating educational opportunities through clinical research initiatives. She has created a team-based, integrated, multidisciplinary approach to research that serves as an ideal setting for students. She is also a role model for emerging woman leaders in medicine and actively seeks to support and mentor women in medicine in order to improve the gender balance in senior leadership positions.

At the graduate and postgraduate level, she has maintained an active roster of supervising research projects over the last three years, including for PhD /doctoral equivalent (2 students), and post-doctoral candidates (2 students).  As a supervisor, her focus has been not simply on overseeing a research project but helping students to develop the skills they need to seek funding and disseminate its findings through academic channels. As a result, students under her supervision have generated an impressive number of publications: of the 53 students she has supervised to date, 30 have successfully published their research in peer-reviewed journals, and 21 have presented at conferences, including several at the national and international level. Dr. Liddy further supports the teaching of students by accepting co-op students and UROP and Med Studentship scholarship recipients.
